MarkeNew appliances look great; keeping them looking new, that’s a different story. But Drew, you’ve got some tips for us right?
Drew
****Yes of course. We all want our appliances to look new but we use them, they get dirty, such is life, right? So when you get these cleaning kits, it comes with a cream polish, a scour pad and a blade for those really stuck on messes. So when you’re doing this, what you want to do is you want to put some of this cream polish on, I usually go around the burner because that’s where you usually have your burn-ons, right. And then you are going to work that in there, scrub that like that, basically you’re filling in any scratches that are in there but you’re also soaking in any burnt on residue. Then you’re going to give it a quick wipe with the sponge like that to take the bulk of it off, grab a dry paper towel—just like waxing a car Marke; do you remember when you used to do that yourself?
MarkeWow look at that. Oh yes (laughs).
DrewLook at that—showroom shine.
MarkeThat’s perfect. And the blade again for little stubborn…
DrewThe blade is for stuff that’s baked on, you just hold it like this and it prevents any scratching.
MarkeOk, cool. Alright, now—stainless steel fridge versus a non-stainless steel fridge, you’ve got to clean them differently, right?
DrewYou’ve got to clean them differently. This is a coated stainless steel to eliminate fingerprints, this is not.So cleaning this stainless steel, you spray your aerosol can of stainless steel polish and you want to go with the grain of the stainless. You can see which way the grain runs, maybe not on the camera but you can here in real life, Marke. And you want to work that in there and as you can see—I’m sweatin’, I’m workin’.
Marke
That’s good. You look like me on Saturday mornings (laughs).
DrewI think I’m going to go to my fingerprint resistant stainless fridge where all I need is a wet cloth and a dry cloth.
MarkeBut if you used this cleaner on that fridge, it would scratch it right?
DrewIt would peel the coating off. Wet cloth, quick wipe, little bit of moisture; followed by a dry cloth to take it off, very easy, no chemicals being breathed in—and there’s a beautiful fridge.
MarkeVery nice, you deserve to take the rest of the afternoon off (laughs). Thank you, Drew.
DrewThank you very much, you’re a good man Marke.
