There’s something about decks or patios or balconies that allure us. With lovely weather, we spend a lot of time on them so might as well make them into our private or entertaining oases. Cozy and zen come to mind when considering furniture and decorations.

There are so many great ideas out there. You can make it as lavish or simple as you want. And you don’t have to break the bank for that comfort. With some ingenuity, you can create your own look.  For example, If you have or know of some crates lying around, make them into furniture. Splash with cushions and some warm blankets….viola! a lovely, rustic look.

You can also put a lounger, a stand-alone hammock or a hanging chair. Add a patio heater for extra warmth and a possible bug deterrent. And some plants and flowers for extra cheer.

Deck lights are perfect for evenings. They could be string or lanterns like these for a bit more pizazz.
