Your Favourite Glazed Donut or You Can Make Your Own!_Ingredients:_¼ cups flour2¼ teaspoons instant yeast¼ cup of sugar1 pinch of salt1¼ cups warm milk2 eggs8 tablespoons canola oilShortening for fryingIcing sugar
_Method:_In a large bowl mix together flour, instant yeast, sugar and salt.
Add in warm milk, eggs and canola oil and mix well. If the dough is too sticky, add 1 tablespoon of flour at a time until you reach desired consistency.
Set your oven to 100F to proof the dough. It should double in size.
Transfer dough on floured surface and roll to ½ inch thick. Cut doughnuts with a cutter, 3 inches in diameter.
Place doughnuts on individual pieces of parchment paper and proof to double. This can be done on the counter or if you are in a hurry they can go back in the oven at 100F.
In a large frypan, heat oil to 375F and fry doughnuts until golden then flip. Once the second side is golden, place on a cooling rack. To catch the excess oil, place the cooling rack on cookie sheet.
Maple Pecan Bacon_Ingredients:_Package of bacon (usually has 12-14 strips)½ cup maple syrup1 cup brown sugar1 cup pecans, chopped1 pinch cayenne pepper
_Method:_Pre-heat oven on convection bake to 350F.
Lay bacon strips on a cooling rack, do not overlap. Place rack on a cookie sheet
In a separate bowl, mix together maple syrup, brown sugar and cayenne pepper. Brush each strip of bacon with the mixture. Sprinkle chopped pecans on each strip of bacon and place in oven middle rack.
Bake approximately 10 minutes until bacon is crispy.
Shirred Eggs_Ingredients:_1 tablespoon butter4 eggs, extra-largeSalt and pepper1 to 2 tablespoon of water
_Method:_Pre-heat oven on convection bake to 325F.
In a small non-stick frying pan on medium heat melt the butter. Add 1 egg and position yolk in middle, lightly salt and pepper.
Pour 1 to 2 tablespoon of water around the edge of the pan encircling egg. You can do multiple eggs at once but it may be harder to dish up.
Place in the oven for 10 to 12 minutes until set. Be sure to use a frying pan with an ovenproof handle.
StackingPlace donut on your plate. Top with 3 slices of bacon then add then egg on top of the bacon. Now it’s ready to serve!
*Makes approx. 4 depending on how much bacon you want to use and how many eggs you are cooking.
